24 to 40, Strength to Strength
Marine Kar then moved to her most challenging role: wife and mother. We married in '89, 14 months later had Hannah, 14 months later had Sophie, 14 months later Isaiah... We have lived and worked with the poor in Dallas, migrant workers in North Carolina, Communist officials in urban China, rice farmers in rural China, oppressed minorities in Burma, rural Americans in North Carolina and urban Thais in Thailand. Karla continues to use her strengths in ways that not only bring smiles to the tough and complex situations of this world , but to anyone who gives her the chance to get close.

Karla,
It is inspiring to read about the places God has brought you & your family. He has often used your smile and encouragement, as well as the dedication of you and your family, to bless, strengthen and motivate us. Thank you for all your e-mails to help us know how to pray and how God is answering.
Thank you following Him, and together with Russell, teaching your family to do so. Words pale compared to walking a holy and courageous walk.
We will always remember Russell's and your love, encouragement and visits (and I'm sure prayers) six years ago when God brought our little Luke into our lives and then gently took Him out of our lives to be with Him. When we remember those days, we always remember the strong arms God surrounded us with. Thank you for being used by Him to uphold us.
Blessings on your birthday and in the years to come. The 40's are wonderful; they bring us closer to meeting Jesus! Anything that does that definitely has its merit!
Love,
Dee Dee, Paul, Caitlin, Bethany, Sam, Grace & Isaiah
